Joan Marie Snyder Hannay , 67

Wynantskill Joan Marie Snyder Hannay , 67 ,of Woodside Court died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John Snyder and Hazel (Houser) Snyder and wife for 47 years of Harold H. Hannay.

She had resided the past 50 years in Wynantskill and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1954.

Mrs. Hannay was employed, many years ago, as an operator for the New York Telephone Company and for many years had been a homemaker. Most recently, she worked part time at Jack and Jill Day Care in Wynantskill.

She was a member of the Monday afternoon women's bowling league at Hi-Way Recreation in Wynantskill and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill.

Survivors in addition to her husband include four sons, Edward (Laura) Hannay of West Dundee, IL, Brian (Joanne) Hannay of Seminole, FL, Dennis Hannay of Lehigh Acres, FL and Scott (Michele) Hannay of St. Petersburg, FL; a sister, Joyce (Thomas) Smith of Wynantskill; 7 grandchildren; a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Services are for family only. Private funeral service will be held Saturday at 12:30pm at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. James Clark, Pastor of St. Jude's Church, officiating. Family only visiting hours at the funeral home Friday from 6-8pm. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
