Jerry H. Castle, 61

Poestenkill Jerry H. Castle, 61, of Route 66, died suddenly Friday, October 24, 2003, at Samaritan Hospital Troy.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Francis and Dorothy Barth Castle. He had resided most of his life in the Averill Park-Poestenkill areas.

Mr. Castle owned and operated J. H. Castle Construction in Poestenkill for 36 years, retiring several years ago. Many years ago he worked as a mason for Local # 10 in Troy.

He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 10 and a veteran of the U S Air Force.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Slater of Lake Orion, MI; two daughters, Tuesday Cariera (Jeffrey Williams) of Lake Orion, MI and Jaime Johnson of Troy; a brother William Castle (Marie) of Averill Park; two sisters, Judy Gorman of Latham and Sandra Teal of Poestenkill; five grandchildren Krystle Cariera, Zachery Mudge, Hunter Williams and newly born twins, Briana and Hayley George. Also survived by his girlfriend, Edith Fleming of Poestenkill, her daughter, Theresa Perrier of Wynantskill and her children Thorn Burnham and Jade Basta. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:00am from the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake and at 9:30am from St. Henry's Church in Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9PM.

Interment Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill.
