Jean (Mason) Sweet

Castleton On Hudson - Jean Mason Sweet, 80, of North Main Street passed to freedom Monday, June 20, 2016, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a long illness.

Born in Fort Hancock, NJ, she was the beloved daughter of the late Earnest Mason and Anna Tomala Mason. She was raised in Watervliet and had resided in Albany. 

After graduating  from Catholic Central High School, Jean was a bookkeeper at the Watervliet Arsenal Credit Union  before becoming a homemaker. In her later years she was a care giver at St. Sophia Adult Home in Albany where she resided.

Jean's greatest Love and comfort was her children visits and reading her bible. She was passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ. She passed her love of nature and pets,  especially dogs onto her children.  Jean's Legacy is her generosity and kindness. The ripples will continue to impact the people she leaves behind.

Survivors include her beloved children, W. Matthew Sweet, Troy, Ellen Sweet, Cohoes and Samuel (Tina) Sweet, Enfield, NH; her grandchildren, Kevin, William, Nicholas, Emily and Mason Sweet and Jason Grignon and  3 great grandchildren, Akane, Kailyn and Aria. She was also survived by her niece, Carol Trzcinski and 8 other nieces and nephews and her dearest friends, Tom Hotaling, Linda Anderson and Judy and Callie.  She was predeceased by two sisters, her twin sister, Joan Mason and Lucille Trzcinski and brothers, Robert and William Mason.
  
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 10-11 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM with Rev. David Martin, officiating.

Interment will be in  St. Agnes Cemetery Menands.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Jean Mason Sweet to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
