Troy - Jean Marjorie Bayly Ross, 92, formerly of Averill Park died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Archer Bayly and Teresa Schumacher Bayly and wife of the late Franklin Wilcox and Thomas J. Ross. She was raised in the East Side of Troy and resided in Averill Park and in St. Petersburg, FL upon her retirement and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Troy School of Beauty Culture.
Mrs. Ross owned and operated Jean's Beauty Mirror in Averill Park and Troy for 30 years.
She was a member of the Ladies Home Bureau and enjoyed bingo, bowling and ceramics.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra J. Milligan, Cohoes; her grandchildren, Laurel Priddle, Lisa Mainville, Richard Mainville, Franklin III, Michael and Joseph Wilcox and Terri Jean Paull; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Franklin Wilcox Jr.; her siblings, Doris Pizzuti, Frances Liebener and Bud and Norman Bayly and agrandson, Robert Mainville Jr.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Friday, at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James J. Vaughan.
Interment will be in St. Jean's Cemetery Troy.
