North Greenbush - Janice Marie Bentley, 45, died on August 28 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. Janice was the beloved daughter of Dorothy Gardner Bentley Multunas and the late Gordon Bentley and the step-daughter of the late Jules Multunas. She was the step-sister of Terry, Ross, and Kevin Bentley and of Bill, Brian, and Susan Multunas (Laz). She is also survived by her aunt, Freda Gardner, and other relatives.
Janice attended the Wynantskill Elementary School, Rensselaer County BOCES program, and the Cerebral Palsy Center in Albany. She was a member of the Brunswick Presbyterian Church of Troy and received wonderful spiritual care and special love from the pastors, Harry Heintz, Kate Kotfila, and Chris Garrison. She was also so grateful for the loving care she received from members of the congregation. She was a former member of Third Presbyterian Church in Troy and also received special prayer support from the pastor, John McCauley, and was also appreciative of the faithfulness of that congregation.
Janice suffered for 42 years with an undiagnosed progressive degenerative neurological illness. She spent the last 22 years at Wesley where she received exceptional care and much love during all those years. Her life was an inspiration and blessing to those who knew her.
Those wishing to make a contribution in her memory could send their gifts to the "With a Head Choose a Friend" fund at the Wesley Health Care Center, Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. This fund is used to bring special joy to the young adult residents at Wesley.
A memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held on Saturday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Third Presbyterian Church, Winter Street in Troy. An earlier private interment will occur at Evergreen Cemetery in Lebanon, NY.
