Jane E. Prout Murphy

Jane E. Prout Murphy, 84 Troy Jane E. Prout Murphy, 84, of Burdett Avenue, died Tuesday at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center Troy, after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Ray H. and Jane Elizabeth Ross Prout and wife of the late William J. (Wally) Murphy. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School. Mrs. Murphy worked with her father in Ray Prout Printers in Troy and later at Behr-Manning in Watervliet. She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy and a member of the Girls Friendly Society, the Women of St. John's and Christian Women. Survivors include a daughter Carol A. Daggett and husband Clark of Albany and two grandchildren Cori Elizabeth Daggett of Philadelphia, PA and Cristi Anne Kovacs and husband Jule of Latham. She was predeceased by a sister Lois G. Wehren. Funeral service will be private. There will be no calling hours. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
