Jane A. Blood McKenzie, 87

Brunswick - Jane A. Blood McKenzie, 87, of McChesney Ave Ext. died Saturday, October 01, 2011, at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Gloversville, she was daughter of the late Jonas Smith Blood and Myrtle Jane Rose Blood. She had resided in Troy as a child, 16 years in Cleveland, Boulder City, Nevada, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had been in Florida for several years and in Brunswick the past 5 years and was a graduate of Troy Schools, Lansingburgh High School and Albany Business College.

Ms. McKenzie was employed formerly at Officemaster in Cleveland for 5 years and New York Telephone in Troy for 6 years. She later worked for 15 years for the State of Florida Water Management in the Executive Offices in human resources.

She was a volunteer at Deaconness Hospital in Cleveland, a charter president and member of the Gold Coast in West Palm Beach and the Charter President Business and Professional Women in Palm Beach.

Survivors include her step daughter, Maureen Mitchell, Powder Springs, GA; 2 nephews and a niece, Scott F. Blood, Troy, Shelley Hoover, Santa Monica, CA and Jeffrey Blood, Troy; a sister-in-law, Viva Blood, Troy and a special friend, Joan Smith. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick J. Blood; a nephew , John Blood, Troy and a cousin, Caroline Rose.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday from 1-2 PM with a service to follow at 2PM.

Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery Gloversville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Jane A. McKenzie to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205.
