Jane Isabelle Stacy Bowman, 86

Troy- Jane Isabelle Stacy Bowman, 86, of 2256 Burdett Avenue, died peacefully April 18, 2008 at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center surrounded by her loving family and dear friend Martha Leckonby.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the Late William E. Stacy and Mary Ann (Atchison) Stacy and the wife of the late Col. Joseph W. Bowman.

She resided in Poestenkill for most of her life and enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and summers at their beloved Adirondack camp.

She was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy, in the Alter Guild and Couples Club. Jane worked tirelessly on every rummage sale, Christmas Fair, Church Supper and fundraiser that the Church sponsored.

Mrs. Bowman was a clerk at Denby's Department Store for many years and was a wonderful cook, homemaker, decorator and Mother to her children . She will be dearly missed by her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren as well.

She faced many difficult challenges and climbed many mountains in the past five years and she has now reached the other side of the mountain to be with God.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Douglas) Kelley of West Sand Lake, three sons, Joseph Robert (Lynn) Bowman of Omaha, Nebraska, Jonathan (Anne) Bowman of Oneida, and Mark (Michele) Bowman of Poestenkill, her grandchildren Jeffrey (Lori) & Kristen Kelley, Stacy, Courtney, Kelsey, Scott(Jennifer), Shawn, Michael, Elizabeth, Sarah Bowman, four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob and Grace Kelley, Nicholas Bowman, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, William A. Stacy, John A. Stacy and Robert E. Stacy.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 10A.M. at St. John's Episcopal Church 146 First Street Troy with Rev. Harold Carrier, Rector, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Monday from 4-8 P.M.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery Troy.

Mrs. Bowman's family would like to thank the wonderful, loving care given to Jane by the staff at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center and to the Hospice Staff as well.
