James J. Lopie

North Greenbush - James J. Lopie, of North Greenbush Road died Friday September 12, 2008 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Andrew Lopie and Josephine (Suspanic) Lopie. He was a graduate of St. Joseph`s School in South Troy and Christian Brothers Academy.

He worked in the mail room for New York State Department of Motor Vehicles for 40 years.

He was a caring and generous individual with everyone he came into contact with. He was an army veteran and a member of the CSEA..

Survivors include cousins, Ernestine (John Gleason) Plumley of Poestenkill and Thomas (Stella) Mickiewicz of Schenectady; a `loving nephew`, Dan Plumley of East Greenbush, a loving Goddaughter, Tina (Mark) Mann of East Greenbush and several additional cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Andrew Lopie and a loving companion, Virginia Wallace.

Jim's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors. Nurses and staff of the 6th of Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. White and to Michelle, Pam, Bridget and Denise for their care and compassion shown to Jim.

Services for Jim will be held Wednesday at 9:15 AM at Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at10AM at St. Michael`s Church in Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours for Jim will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday 4-7pm.

Interment will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in memory of James J. Lopie to the charity of ones choice.
