Palm Beach Gardens, FL - James Edward Hart, 85, of Windermere Way Palm Beach Gardens, FL died Tuesday, December 07, 2010, at VA Hospital in Rivera Beach, FL after a long illness.
Born in Troy, NY, he was son of the late Charles Hart and Cassie Grant Hart and husband for 44 years of Joyce Rook Hart. He had resided in Niskayuna, Clifton Park and Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School and Champlain College.
Mr. Hart was employed as a mechanical engineer for Friedman Fisher Associates, consulting engineers in Colonie for 39 years retiring in 1989 and was a member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers.
He was a Past Commodore of the Saratoga Lake Sailing Club, a member of the Central New York Yacht Racing Association and attended Gardens Presbyterian Church of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Mr. Hart was a past member of the Mohawk-Hudson Power Squadron. He served during World War II in the 6th Division of the US Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Ralph H. Bennett of Clifton Park and Grant L. Hart of Louisville, KY.
A graveside service will be held May 13th meeting at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy at 9:30am for an 10:30am service at the Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of James Hart to the VAMC, Veterans Hospital, Volunteer Services, 7305 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410.
