James Fenimore Cooper Jr., 75

Wynantskill - James Fenimore Cooper Jr., 75, of St. Jude's Apartments and formerly of Averill Park died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late James Fenimore Cooper Sr. and Mary C. Tufts Cooper and husband for 55 years of Patricia Kerber Cooper. He had resided in Averill Park most of his life and the past 5 years at St. Jude's Apartments in Wynantskill and was a graduate of Averill Park schools.

Mr. Cooper worked for Bendix Friction Materials in Green Island for 19 ½ years and was owner and operator of Coopers Auto Repair and Towing in Averill Park

He was a 50 year volunteer with the West Sand Lake Fire Company and a member of the Sand Lake Ambulance and the US Naval Reserve.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Patricia A. (Jerry) Marsceill, Averill Park; three sons, James F. Cooper III, Averill Park, Mark S. Cooper, Troy and Scott L. (Jennifer) Cooper, Averill Park; his siblings, Richard Cooper, William (Linda) Cooper, Menands and Mary Agnes Cooper, Troy, a sister-in-law, Judy Cooper, Malta; grandchildren, Jerry Marsceill Jr, Douglas (Jamie) Marsceill Sr. and Mark S. Jr., Sean, James F IV, Melissa, Derrick, Dillion, Steven and Chenaah Cooper; great grandchildren, Douglas Jr., Jerry III, Cassandra and Alexander Marsceill. He was predeceased by a sister, Flora Cooper and a brother, Peter J. Cooper.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
