Jacqueline McEvoy Martin, 79

Troy - Jacqueline McEvoy Martin, 79, of Troy died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center Troy after a long illness.

Born in New York City, she was daughter of the late John J. McEvoy and Mary Norton McEvoy and wife for 42 years of the late Lawrence A. Martin. They were married on August 27. 1958 at St. Mary's Church. She was raised in Cortland where she resided most of her life and the past 9 years in Troy and was a graduate of St. Mary's School in Cortland, class of 1952 and the Cortland Business Institute.

Mrs. Martin was employed in the attendance office of the Cortland City School District for 10 years retiring in 1994 .

She was an avid golfer and loved horse racing and involvement in her children's and grandchildren's sporting events.

Survivors include her children, Kevin G. Martin, Clinton, NY, Robert J. (William) Martin, Albany, Michael J. (Gillian) Martin, Louisville, CO, Kelly A. (Edward) Martin, South Berwick, ME and Maureen (David) Lammon, Troy, NY; her grandchildren, Connor, Christian, Zoe and Caroline Martin, Jack, Charlie and Teddy Martin, Jim and Stephen Sherbahn and Luke, Bayly and Gabriel Lammon and a sister-in-law, Abby Martin, Washington, DC. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Robert L. Martin and a daughter-in-law, Christin Gachowski Martin.

Funeral service will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11 AM at the St. Mary's Church 59 N. Main Street Cortland where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Troy at a time to be announced.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cortland.
