Jack H. Mikhitarian, 92

Troy - Jack H. Mikhitarian, 92, of Centerview Drive died peacefullyTuesday, April 07, 2009, at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Harry Mikhitarian and Behiye Bezjian Mikhitarian and beloved and devoted husband for 63 years of Mary 'Mimi' Arabian Mikhitarian. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Jack was District Manager of Commodore Cleaners and later sales representative for W.L. Coughtry.

Jack was an active and dedicated member of the United Armenian Calvary Congregational Church in Troy. He served on the Church Council, was an Elder and then became a Life Deacon. He was honored for over 50 years of loyal service to the church several years ago.

He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Knicks fan, loved playing golf and was instrumental in forming the Frear Park Golf League. Jack served his country in World War 2 in the US Army Infantry with the Timberwolf Division.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three sisters Eliza Wronowski of Wynantskill, Mary Bernstein of Troy and Dorothy Donelian of Troy and many nieces and nephews and their extended families. He was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Charles and Harry Mikhitarian.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, at 11:00 AM at the United Armenian Calvary Congregational Church Ninth and Eagle Streets Troy with Rev. Charles Baboian , former Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday from 4-7.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Jack H. Mikhitarian to the United Armenian Calvary Congregational Chuch 144 Ninth Street Troy, NY 12180 or the Charity of one's choice.
