I was thinking of Jack on and off the past year and wondering how he was doing and where he was living. I had no idea he was in the Albany area. I'm also from RPI Outing Club and made had a couple of trips with Jack in his green Dodge Dart to Alabama to go caving in the 1970's. We also were all over Schoharie County together with a bunch of other friends from the R.O.C. Jack was a wonderful guy, kind, considerate, a trusting friend and he really enjoyed caving. The world has lost a wonderful person. Rest in peace my friend, we will see you soon enough.

Marcia, I am so sad not to have had a chance to get to know Jack. His love of nature, of hiking and caving, of birds, of cats -- and of living surrounded by all of the things he loved -- would have made us fast friends, I expect. Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family, and that I wish you peace and healing in the days ahead.

I will mis Jack. Yes, he was a man of few words, but when we were together, we would have good conversation. So glad to have spent time with him at the Stucklen reunion this year. Living and dying is rarely predictable. Jack died too soon. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts remain with Marcia in these days. With much love.
