Irvin E. Miller

Brunswick - Irvin E. Miller, 100, of Pinewoods Avenue died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Brunswick, he was son of the late Oscar Miller and Lottie Link Miller and husband for 77 years of the late Jessie E. Slater Miller, who died in January of 2015. They were married in April of 1938. Irv was born on the family farm on Spring Avenue in Brunswick and in 1944 moved to the farm on Pinewoods Avenue which he operated until semi-retiring in 1968. The farm is now operated by his grandson, Jim. He was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1933. 

For 40 years he delivered milk and eggs as Miller Dairy.

He was a member of George Washington School Board of Trustees, The Town of Brunswick Planning Board, Dairylea Co-op, New York State Farm Bureau, the Bottle Exchange and the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church and its Men’s Club.    

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Sullivan, Brunswick and Lynne Miller, Vermont; his grandchildren, James I. (Theresa) Sullivan, Jeffrey R. (Mark Heidorn) Sullivan and Pamela (James) Pultorak; a granddaughter-in-law, Wendy Sullivan; seven great grandchildren, James I. Sullivan II,  Cassie (Joe) Dessalines, Haley Sullivan, Cynthia Allen, Stephanie (Jon) Graves,  Jennifer Pultorak and Jaimee (Chris) Knowlton; six great great grandchildren, Alyssa and Gavin Allen, Isabella and Cole Knowlton, Violet Graves and Deliah Dessalines.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Elwood Miller.
 
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday. January 23, 2016 from 9:30-11AM with a funeral service at 11AM with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating. 

Interment will be in  Memory Gardens Colonie.
