Irma E. Yerden Sluus, 86

Poestenkill-Irma E. Yerden Sluus, 86,of Weatherwax Road, died Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Homer Yerden and Mary (Tormey) Yerden and wife of the late Theodore H. Sluus.

She was raised in Watervliet, summered on Liberty Lane in Poestenkill and resided most of her life in Poestenkill and was educated at Watervliet schools.

Mrs. Sluus was a homemaker.

She was a former member of the Church of the Covenant in Averill Park and enjoyed knitting afgans.

She is survived by a son, Timothy S. Sluus (Donna) of Averill Park; three daughters, Patricia E. Pinney (Benjamin) of Poestenkill, Dale S. Langford (J. Spencer) of Averill Park and Janet Teal (the late John) of West Sand Lake; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, David Theodore Sluus and two brothers, Arnold J. and Homer Yerden.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11am at the Elmwood Hill Cemetery Belle Avenue Troy.
