Troy Howard T. 'Bud' Stone , 78, died Sunday, June 6, 2004 at his home, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Rensselaer, he was the son of the late Howard and Helena (Mullany) Stone. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Helen Cleary Stone. Bud was the father of Thomas Stone of Clifton Park, Richard Stone, Lauren Burke and husband Robert, Janis Gaunay and husband Thomas all of Rensselaer. Bud was the stepfather of Russell Vroman (Huey) and fiancee Cynda Simmons, Francis Vroman and wife Bonnie, Dawn Vroman, Robin Vroman and fiancee Thomas Pitts, Mark Vroman all of Troy, and Yvonne Fauth and husband Edward of Cohoes; brother of Arlene Soldovere and husband Joseph, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Marilyn Baird of Rensselaer; brother-in-law to John Cleary and wife Sharon of Ogden, Utah, Richard Cleary and wife Penny of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Also survived by 21 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bud served during World War II in the United States Coast Guard stationed in the North Atlantic aboard the Monticello and the USS Groton as a Radar Technician. Following his service, Bud was employed as a salesman for 50 years working for Martin Office Products, Spectrums, and Staples from which he retired. After his retirement he was employed by Northeast Health and was a driver for Beechwood in Troy which he loved.

Bud loved the water and boating. He was also an "A" member of the Troy Boat and Canoe Club and a member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh in Troy.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM from Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy were a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
