Howard James Grover Jr., 59 Clifton Park Howard James Grover Jr., 59, of Fieldstone Drive, died suddenly Tuesday at his residence. Born in North Adams, MA he was son of Helen Horan Grover of Lenox, MA and the late Howard James Grover Sr. and husband of Ann Marie St.John Grover. He had resided in Clifton Park since 1999 and was a graduate of Bryant College in Rhode Island receiving a Bachelor's degree in business. Mr. Grover retired from GE Power Systems in 1997 where he had worked for 33 years and was currently employed at L&D Associates in Latham. He was a member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks, American Legion Post in Amsterdam, GE Elfun Society, the National Rifle Association and Nichol Fly Hunting Camp in the Adirondacks. He served in the National Guard at Ft. Knox. Howard was an avid gardener and expert wood crafter. He loved his Harley, his house on the Maine coast, his Lionel trains and collecting old miniature cars. He enjoyed cooking, and looked forward to hunting camp each fall. If you couldn't find Howard in the garden or on his bike, you could be sure to find him at a flea market. Howard was a loyal friend. Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include three daughters Lisa Michaud and husband Rich of Ballston Spa, Melinda Grover of Scotia and Diane Grover of Scotia; a brother Edward Grover and wife Susan of Mayfield; his mother and father-in-law Anna and Robert St.John Sr. of Troy; brothers and sisters-in-law Eugene and Donna St.John of Troy, Sr. Patricia A. St.John, CSJ of Albany, Vincent and Sharon St.John of Florida and 4 nieces and nephews Michelle VanValkenberg of Oneonta, Melanie LeClairche of Scotland, Nicholas St.John of Troy and Michelle St.John of Troy. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy and at 9:30am from St. Mary's Church Church Hill Road in Crescent where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8pm. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy. Directions and guest book available at www.brycefuneralhome.com.
