Howard A. Daley

Howard A. Daley, 80 Poestenkill Howard A. Daley, 80, of Main Street, died Friday at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Troy, he was son of the late Howard D. and Violet Anthony Daley and husband of Ruth Ives Daley. He had resided in Poestenkill for the past 38 years and was a graduate of Troy High School, Albany Business College, New York State Bankers Association for Personnel Administration and the American Institute of Banking. Mr. Daley was employed at Union National Bank from 1959-1978 retiring as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the Wynantskill Branch having served in all capacities of banking over his long and distinguished career. Prior to that he worked for Miller Electric Company in Troy and Manufacturers National Bank. After his retirement he worked at the Rensselaer County Department of Health. He was a member of the Sullivan- Jones Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post Poestenkill, an Exempt Fireman of the Poestenkill Fire Company, Secretary and Past President of the Poestenkill Kiwanis, Poestenkill Bicentennial Committee, American Institute of Banking, Poestenkill Town Council and a member and Deacon of the Brunswick Presbyterian Church and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters Carol D. Daniel and husband William E. of Moreland Hills, OH and Barbara D. Cummings and husband Charles R. Jr. of Poestenkill; a son Thomas H. Daley and wife Kate of Center Brunswick; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-2pm at the Brunswick Presbyterian Church 42White Church Lane Brunswick. The Memorial Service will be held at 2pm at the church with Pastors Harry J. Heintz and Kate Kotfila, officiating. A reception will follow. Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Daley to the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany, Inc. 301 Washington Avenue Albany, NY 12206.
