Howard Ronald Brewer, 79

West Sand Lake - Howard Ronald Brewer, 79, passed on to eternal life, Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at St. Peter's Hospital Hospice Inn Albany after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late George Brewer and Nellie Honsinger Brewer and husband for 52 years of Mary Timber Brewer. Raised in Troy, he had resided in West Sand Lake for the past 50 years.

Mr. Brewer was employed by Emma Willard School as a cook and baker, and most recently LaSalle School in Albany as a kitchen supervisor, retiring after 20 years in 1995.

Howard was a talented chef and baker, which was his passion and love. He was creative and enjoyed crafts. There was nothing he couldn't do, and everything he did was done with a wonderful sense of humor.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his three children, Mark E. Brewer of Poestenkill, Paul H. Brewer of West Sand Lake and Heidi K. (Spiro) Angelides of Schenectady; a sister, Hilda Jones of Watervliet. He cherished his 4 grandchildren, Molly K. and Helen M. Brewer and Jacob Ryan and Gabriella Rose Angelides and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Audna and Mildred Sweet and a brother, Lester Brewer.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Friday from 4-8 PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 12 noon at the funeral home with Rev. John McAuley, Pastor of Third Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Troy.
