Herbert H. Gibbs, 74

Poestenkill Herbert H. Gibbs, 74,of Abbott Drive died Friday, November 25, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Watervliet, he was the son of the late Herbert A. Gibbs and Florence (Wager) Gibbs and was husband for 50 years of Marilyn Tymeson Gibbs.

He had resided in the early 50's in Troy and since 1962 had resided in Poestenkill. He attended Watervliet High School.

Mr. Gibbs worked for Tri-State Electric Motors, Inc. in Troy for 20 years, later becoming owner/ partner and Treasurer for the next 20 years retiring in 1993.

He was a member and Elder of the Third Presbyterian Church in Troy, a Life Member of the Poestenkill Fire Company, a Cub Scout leader, a volunteer at Twin Town Little League and a member of the Troy Lodge of Elks and The Country Club of Troy and the club's ROB's. He was a Navy veteran of Korean War stationed in Japan. He and Marilyn spent fall and winter at North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Diane Marie Lewinski of Troy; a son, Herbert Arthur Gibbs II (Karen) of Wynantskill; three grandchildren, Robert J. and Stephanie Lewinski and Herbie H. Gibbs II; two brothers, William J. Gibbs of Poestenkill and Robert J. Gibbs (Joan) of Waterford and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 10:30 AM at Third Presbyterian Church in Troy.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 PM.

Interment Eagle Mills Cemetery.
