Henry W. Duncan, 88

Poestenkill- Henry W. Duncan, 88,of Poestenkill, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 in Poestenkill after a brief illness.

Born in Eagle Mills, he was the son of the late Joseph Duncan and Margaret (Fitting) Duncan and husband of Rose Mahoney Duncan.

He had resided in Poestenkill most of his life and was a graduate of Troy High School and Siena College.

Mr. Duncan was employed as a supervisor for Montgomery Ward in Menands where he worked for 42 years retiring in 1982. He also operated his family's farm in Eagle Mills for many years.

He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Eagle Mills and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Robby Ann Mahoney-Mitola of Poestenkill and Jamie Ward (James) of Poestenkill; two grandchildren, Sean Henry and Alyssa Rose; a sister-in-law, Helen Duncan of Latham; five nieces and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph W. Duncan.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11am at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Pacia Vamvas, Chaplain of Community Hospice, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4-7 PM.

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
