Troy Helena E. Roberge (Welch) Barkley 72, died Friday July 18,2003 at Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Helena was born in South Hadley, MA. She was the daughter of the late Edmund and Ida Duprey Roberge and wife of the late Francis J. Welch and George F. Barkley.

She is the loving mother of Linda (Bruce) Kuhle of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Francis Welch San Diego, CA, Robert (Donna) Welch of Eagle Mills NY, John (Karen) Barkley of Glastonbury, CT, Judie (Ray) Metz of Orlando FL, Joyce (David) Hoffman of Troy, NY and was predeceased by her daughters Kathleen Welch and Willa Barkley O'Brien.

She is survived by her loving brothers and sisters Lorraine Roberge (Earl Lamica) of Saratoga Springs, Richard (Pearl) Roberge of Watseka IL, Claire Cesana of High Falls, Clarence (Jean) Roberge of Malta, Louis Roberge (Marge) of Clifton Park, Ida Peterson of Watervliet and predeceased by Florence Winters and Edmund Roberge. Helena was the cherished grandmother of Jeremy Welch of San Diego, Aaron and Eric Kuhle of Colorado Springs, Christopher and Matthew Welch of Eagle Mills, Callie and Justin Barkley of Glastonbury CT, Derrick, Darren, Danny and Dawn Galloway, April Rebhun of Santa Clarita, CA, Robert Rebhun of Houston TX, Ryan, Jason and Evan Hoffman of Troy and great Grandmother of Zachary and Arianna Rebhun. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed her family, friends and music.

Helena's final wish was to assist in medical research and in her loving way she achieved this by donating her body to the Anatomical Gifts Program at Albany Medical College. Mrs. Barkley and her family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Raymond, Leslie and the other care givers from Community Hospice of Rensselaer County.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service which will be held Friday, July 25 at 11:00 at Our Lady of Victory Church , North Lake Avenue Troy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144.
