Helen Worthington Brown Bonesteel Fuller, 92

North Greenbush - Helen Worthington Brown Bonesteel Fuller, 92, of Crimson Circle died Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehab after a long illness.

Born in Wynantskill, she was daughter of the late Edgar L. Worthington and Nellie Clickner Worthington and wife of the late Merrill R. Fuller, Arlie A. Bonesteel and Arthur Francis Brown. She had resided formerly on West Sand Lake Road in North Greenbush. Helen attended the Hidley Hill one room schoolhouse, Emma Willard School, Troy High School class of 1938, earned her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing and attended Columbia Hospital in New York City. She also was educated in piano and clarinet.

Helen was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for several years at St. Joseph's Maternity Hospital, Cohoes Memorial Hospital and Collins Nursing Home in Troy. She was a monitor at Averill Park High School and worked at the family run Worthington Flowers in Wynantskill, helping her brother Bill establish his business, retiring on July 2, 1982. Helen also worked for the Board of Elections in North Greenbush.

An active member in many organizations. She was a past president of Reformed Church Women, past president of Albany Women's Classical Union of 24 churches, delegate and secretary of Eastside Laity, delegate to the Troy Council of Churches, past representative to the National Department of Women's Work, a charter member of Church Women United Troy, a member of Kaa Rheu Caldron #65 Albany served as Mighty Chosen One (President), Wynantskill Senior Citizens, North Greenbush Republican Club and formerly active in the PTA in the Averill Park School District, 4H, Campfire Girls, West Sand Lake Grange #949. She was a very active church woman. Helen was one of the first women ordained as Deacon and was an Elder and Clerk of the Consistory at the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill, member of the Christian Education Committee and chairman of preschool committee, church growth committee and also served on the music committee. Many organizations were blessed by Helen's volunteerism, too many to list. Helen continually kept in contact with long time friends by writing letters and cards and many looked forward to her Christmas letter.

She loved being a mother and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, crossword puzzles, reading, music especially Lawrence Welk, church activities, traveling and working on the Troy High School Reunion committee many times. She will be missed by everyone that knew her!

Survivors include four sons, John E. (Jo-Ann) Bonesteel, Virginia, Neil R. (Valerie) Bonesteel, Wynantskill, Mark A. (Pamela) Bonesteel, Schodack and Todd A. (Ruby) Bonesteel, North Greenbush, her step daughter, Agnes Whitesell, Concord, NC; a sister-in-law, Connie Worthington, Wynantskill; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William E. Worthington.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Thursday from 4-7.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 10AM at the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill Church Street and Main Avenue Wynantskill with Rev. Glenn Van Oort , officiating.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
