Welcome to the memorial page for

Hazel D. Kachadurian Baxter

May 21, 2003

Hazel Dorothy Baxter, 88

North Greenbush Hazel Dorothy Baxter, 88, passed from this life into the Hands of the Lord on May 21, 2003 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy.

Born in Fair Haven, VT she was wife of the late Carson D. Baxter and daughter of the late Harry Thomas Kachadurian Sr. and Mary Brown Kachadurian.

Hazel is survived by a loving sister and best friend Viola Lafferty (Joseph) of Troy, and devoted nieces Kathleen Evers (Mark) and Sharon Zugalla, all of Troy, nephew Harry T. Kachadurian III (Donna) of Averill Park, and many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. Hazel was predeceased by two brothers, Harry T. Kachadurian, Jr. and Robert Kachadurian and two sisters, Helen Freckleton and Marjorie Duell.

Hazel will be remembered by her family and friends as a prodigy in many ways and she modestly wished to remain unrecognized for her countless contributions to the community. She tirelessly cared for others before herself and was well respected and loved by all. Hazel gave of herself and her possessions freely and gladly to ease the hardships of the less fortunate. Although she was endlessly involved with numerous organizations, her main interest was 'Four Doors Down', a United Parish Mission that she founded over 26 years ago. Through this mission, she assisted many people with all types of aid including food, clothing, furniture, and social service advice. 'Four Doors' was a way of life for Hazel. Through this organization, she met many wonderful people and made hundreds of friends.

Her wish was to thank all whom she met for their friendliness and all the volunteers who assisted her in making life more pleasant for others.

Our wish is to thank her for being a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, and friend, and to give her the tribute that she is so deserving of.

Hazel will be missed by many, but the memory of her and her goodness will be treasured by all.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00am from Love Lutheran Church corner of Middlesex Rd and Pheasant Lane in East Greenbush with Rev. Ernest Varga, Pastor, officiating.

Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in West Sand Lake.

Contributions may be made in memory of Hazel to the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Association c/o DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. PO box 105 West Sand Lake, NY 12196 or the Love Lutheran Church PO Box 118 East Greenbush, NY12061.
