Harry Dolab, 90

Brunswick - Harry Dolab, 90, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Livingston Hills Nursing Home Livingston, NY after a brief illness.

Born in Springfield, MA, he was son of the late Charles H. Dolab and Dirouhi Djedidian Dolab and husband of the late Virginia S. Ekmalian Dolab. He had resided in Springfield, MA for 8 years and most of his life in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School and Troy Business College.

Harry was owner and operator of the Rug and Carpet Outlet in Lansingburgh for the past 65 years which was started by his father and continues with his daughter and son-in-law.

He was a member of the Knights of Vartan, Country Club of Troy and a faithful parishioner and Founder of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church. He was a world traveler with his wife and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Harry was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his daughter - Rachel K. (Ara) Altounian, Troy; a granddaughter, Valerie Altounian, Bethesda, MD; his siblings, Helen Hall, Loudonville, Jack (Lucille) Dolab, Calif and Charles H. (Cherylynn) Dolab Jr, NC and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Perras and Sarah Cavacas.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 AM at the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church 255 Spring Avenue Troy.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Harry Dolab to Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church 255 Spring Avenue Troy, NY 12180.
