Harold C. Hansen, 86

Wynantskill - Harold C. Hansen, 86, of House #2 Eddy Village Green Pasinella Way Cohoes and formerly of Main Avenue Wynantskill died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Samaritan Hospital after a short illness.

Born in Lansingburgh, he was son of the late Nels Hansen and Elizabeth Kulman Hansen and husband for 59 years of Eleanor Haughney Hansen. He was raised in Lansingburgh and resided in Wynantskill for the past 62 and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.

Mr. Hansen was employed for 42 years in the accounting department of the Albany Times Union, retiring 21 years ago.

He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of the Capital Newspapers. He was also a Committeeman for 10 years of the Wynantskill Cub Scout Pack #530.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four sons, Daniel P. (Theresa) Hansen, Troy, Mark A.(Rita) Hansen, Poestenkill, David B. (Gail) Hansen, Wynantskill and Richard Hansen, Schodack; three grandchildren, Valerie, Christine and Brian Hansen; 3 great grandchildren; three step grandchildren, Eric Milks, Tara (Shelley) Walker and Andrew Gorman; 5 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Elizabeth (Eugene) Vermilyea, Helen (Joseph) Schulze and Bertha Hansen and two brothers, John (Marilyn) Hansen and Nels (Grace) Hansen.The Hansen family would like to thank the nursing staff at Eddy Village Green House #2 and Laurie Albergese for their caring for Harold over these few years.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday, from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Harold C. Hansen to your favorite charity.
