Harold R. Foster, 80

Lansingburgh - Harold R. Foster, 80, of Eighth Avenue died Monday, July 27, 2009, at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Harold J. Foster and Helen Agnes Rawlins Foster and husband of the late Ruth Marie 'Sally' Girard Foster. He had resided in Grafton and Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Harold was a millwright for Teledyne-Gurley in Troy for over 30 years.

He was an avid gardener, baseball and football fan and loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Company. Harold enjoyed his family and watching his grand kids at sporting events.

Survivors include his children, Bree 'Shelly' Foster of Davenport, FL, Cindy A. (James Perry) Foster of Wynantskill and Barry R. (Leslie) Foster of Troy; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Foster of Schuylerville; his grandchildren, Jason Foster, Rebecca Damor and Matthew, Glenn, Alexis and Nicholas Foster; his great grandchildren, William A. Damor, Olivia Quinn Damor, Julian Lovett and Kyla Leigh Foster; his siblings, Robert (Joyce) Foster of Cropseyville, William (Charlotte) Foster of Averill Park, James (Rosemarie) Foster of Springfield, VT and Sandra Devlin of Utica and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Harold R. Foster to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
