Halina T. Lipinski Kacharian, 80

West Sand Lake Halina T. Lipinski Kacharian, 80, of Cobb Hill Road, died Friday at Eddy-Ford Nursing Home Cohoes, after a long illness.

Born in Bronx, NY she was daughter of the late Anthony and Alexandria Lipinski and wife for 54 years of John C. Kacharian. She was raised in Philadelphia, resided in the Bronx, Watervliet, Troy and the past 36 years in West Sand Lake and was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and Troy Business College.

Mrs. Kacharian was employed as a secretary at the Watervliet Arsenal for 3 years retiring 20 years ago and prior to that worked as a medical secretary for Samaritan Hospital.

She was an avid proponent of the American Flag. She assisted her husband in the preparation for the Troy Flag Day Parade and was the secretary and contact for the flag programs that John conducted in the area. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crossword puzzles and travel. Mrs. Kacharian was a member of St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church in Watervliet and volunteered in the activities of the church.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a brother, Theodore Lipinski of Largo, FL; a niece, Marge Lipinski of CA and her cat and pal Missy.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00AM from St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church 100 Troy-Schenectady Road Watervliet with Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian, Pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.
