Greg A. Staats

East Greenbush - Greg A. Staats, 47, passed away suddenly on April 14, 2015.  He died from acute heart failure at the Staats family home on the banks of the Hudson River.

Greg was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, grand uncle and cousin.  He enjoyed his close relationship with his family and close friend, Linda “Loll” Weir Enders. He had a passion for gardening, indoor plants and working at the homestead.   He was also a dependable housekeeper, cook and caregiver.  He excelled as a wait staff person for several years at the Barnsider Restaurant in Albany, at TGIF, and also in Phoenix, Arizona. He resided with his father in East Greenbush.  

Greg is the son of William Staats and his beloved mother, Sandra Reimann Staats (deceased).  He is survived by his siblings, Mark Staats (Darlene), Grant Staats (Kathy), Jennifer Hoeffner (Craig), Kristina Erby (Steven),  Heather Waters (Donald), and Victoria Staats.  His nieces and nephews are Kevin and Meghan Staats; Ethan and Evan Staats; Dan, TJ and Alex Kirsch;  Zachary and Nicholas Hoeffner; Matthew and Brandon Erby; Tyler, Sawyer, Connor, and Hannah Waters; and  one grandniece, Aurora Staats. 

A private funeral service for family and close friends will be held at Staats Island.  Donations in Greg’s honor can be made to the Music Fund, First Church in Albany, 110 North Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12207-2231.
