Gertrude I. 'Trudy' Hill Claydon, 73

Wynantskill- Gertrude I. 'Trudy' Hill Claydon, 73,of Acker Avenue, died Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late James Hill and Isabelle (Turner) Hill and wife for 50 years of John C. Claydon.

She was raised in Troy and resided in Wynantskill most of her life and was educated at Troy High School class of 1951. They summered many years at Deer Run in Schaghticoke.

Mrs. Claydon was a homemaker for many years and a secretary for 20 years with Rensselaer County Bureau of Research and Informational Services, retiring in 1995.

She was a member and treasurer of the Wynantskill Chapter of the Rensselaer County Home Bureau, a Cub Scout Den Mother, a 4-H leader and secretary of the Wynantskill PTA. An active member of the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill, she was a member of the choir, an Elder, former Church Treasurer and chairperson of the annual Women's Lenten Breakfast for over 25 years. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and canning.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Glenn Claydon (Kathy) of Poestenkill, Lori Dearstyne (fiance Bruce Robinson) of Poestenkill, Craig Claydon (Liz) of Ravena, Holly Sullivan (John) of Wynantskill and Mark Claydon of Guilderland; a sister, Shirley Monroe (Ronald) of Troy; 10 grandchildren, Ian and Madaline Claydon, Sarah Dearstyne, Benjamin Claydon, Lindsay, Pierre and Brittney Millett and Kieran, Aidan and Ronan Sullivan and several nieces and a nephew.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill Church Street and Main Avenue Wynantskill with Rev. Kerri Haveman, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHURCH Tuesday from 4-8 PM.

Interment Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill.
