Geraldine Strope Hankle, 81

Nassau - Geraldine Strope Hankle, 81, of Clarks Chapel Road died Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the home of her daughter-in-law on Snyders Lake after a long illness.

Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late George Strope and Genevieve Clark Strope and wife of the late Owen D. Hankle. She had resided in Nassau for many years and was a graduate of Roessleville High School in Albany.

Gerry was employed at the New York State Education Department as a clerk for 27 years, retiring in 1990.

Survivors include a son, Kevin F. (Marie) Hankle, North Greenbush; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Bloomfield, Snyders Lake; her grandchildren, Kevin, Janna, Owen and Eric Hankle, Keith (Kari), Shawn, Jessica and Kimberly Hankle and Jason (Nicola) Hamlin and a great grandchild, Logan Hamlin. She was predeceased by a son, David R. Hankle.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service Monday at 11AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, Burden Lake Road East Schodack with Rev. Andrew Russ, officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Geraldine S. Hankle to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard Rensselaer, NY 12144.
