George Tschumi Jr., 97

Troy - George Tschumi Jr., 97, of Seventeenth Street Troy was escorted by angels to join his beloved wife, Jane, in heaven forever Saturday, September 8, 2012.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late George B. Tschumi Sr. and Elizabeth H. Tschumi and husband of the late Jennie E. 'Jane' Tschumi. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Albert and Howard and sisters, Theresa and Ethel. He resided in Troy all of his life.

George was employed as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company for 38 years, retiring in 1977. During World War II he worked at the Watervliet Arsenal.

He was a member of Troy Lodge of Elks, Kiwanis Club of Wynantskill and a member and former President of Life Underwriters.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Patricia A. Hargreaves, Troy; grandchildren, Raymond and Carolyn Nolte, Diana Friedlander, Adam and Lisa Leftik; great grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Leftik, Lauren, Adam, and Allison Nolte; his cousin Bill (Shirley)Tschumi; and his niece and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 4-6 pm prior to the service at 6pm with Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor of St. Jude the Apostle Church, Officiating.
