George T. Hathaway, 53

Troy - George T. Hathaway, 53, of Lilac Lane died Wednesday, March 04, 2009, at Samaritan Hospital Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Troy , he was the son of George F. Hathaway and Betty Wagar Hathaway of Troy. He had resided in California for 16 years and in Troy for the past 9 years and was educated in Troy Schools.

George was a self employed tree surgeon in California operating Designer Trees and in Troy as The Tree Man.

Survivors in addition to parents include his former wife, Jeannine Keefe and his son, T.J. Hathaway both of Ashland, Ma; a sister, Laurie Hathaway of Castleton; a brother, Don of Grafton; his niece and nephews, Kaitlyn, Roy, Robert, Timothy Jack and Kyle.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. C. Joseph Ingraham, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon - 2 PM.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of George T. Hathaway to the Northeast Health Foundation for Samaritan Hospital ICU 2224 Burdett Avenue Troy, NY 12180.
