George Wesley Daniels, 85

Troy George Wesley Daniels, 85, of Lincoln Avenue, died Wednesday at Samaritan Hospital Troy.

Born in Grafton, he was son of the late J Maxwell and Nellie Snyder Daniels and for 61 years was husband of Minnie Miller Daniels who died in April of 2002. He had resided in Troy for the past 50 years.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Daniels worked for 8 years at Security Supply and in the dairy industry for 33 years at Diamond Rock Creamery, Dairylea and Normanskill.

He was a charter member of the Sullivan Jones VFW Post 7466 Poestenkill; a longtime member of the Poestenkill Evangelical Lutheran Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include four sons, Gerald Daniels (Eleanor) of Troy, David Daniels (Beverly) of Waterford, Erle Daniels of Troy and Timothy Daniels of Clifton Park; a daughter, Nancy Wittemer (James) of Troy; two brothers, Lloyd Daniels (Adelaide) of Santa Maria, CA and Robert Daniels of Cropseyville; a sister-in-law, Irene Wheeler of Poestenkill; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Harold Daniels and a brother Raymond Daniels.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:00pm at the Poestenkill Evangelical Lutheran Church, NY Route 351 Poestenkill with Rev. Stephen L. Cordes, Pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment in Center Brunswick Cemetery.
