George E. Bakerian Sr.

Troy- George E. Bakerian Sr., 81,of Mann Avenue, died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late George K. Bakerian and Catherine (Hazard) Bakerian and husband of Patricia A. Brown Bakerian.

He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of LaSalle Institute in Troy and Siena College in Loudonville.

Mr. Bakerian was a Welfare Fraud Investigator for Rensselaer County Department of Social Services for 36 years retiring in 1988.

He was a dedicated family man and loved his many friends and was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. He loved feeding birds and squirrels and was a communicant of St. William's Church in Troy.

He is survived by three sons, David G. Bakerian (late Nancy) of Newark, DE, George E. Bakerian Jr. (Sheila) of Sand Lake and Kevin H. Bakerian of Troy; two daughters, Kimberly Turino of Troy and Kelly E. Gregware (Jon) of Troy; a sister, Rosemary Gilchrist (Joseph) of Watervliet, six grandchildren, Catherine, Nicholas, Alexandra, Zachary, Jeremy and Trevor George and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John Bakerian

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30 AM at St. William's Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gary Mercure, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 PM.

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
