Gail Barbara Cranston Koenig, 70

Averill Park - Gail Barbara Cranston Koenig, 70, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of Charles Cranston of Troy and the late Mildred (Pitcher) Cranston and wife of Erl A. Koenig.

She was a 1954 graduate of Troy High School and attended Springfield College in Springfield, MA and later attended Hudson Valley Community College.

Gail was a private secretary to Stanley J. Wawrejko Co., CPA in Albany and later became a bookkeeper and secretary for GPI in Poestenkill. Gail also sold real estate for Moffit Hollis Reality.

She was an active leader in the Boy Scouts and 4-H and was a member of the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill.

Survivors in addition to her father and husband include a son, Charles Hollis Koenig and wife Kathy of Monroe, NC; two daughters, Barbara Jean Kahn and husband Richard of Flowery Branch, GA and Hydee Jo Yonkers and husband David of Rensselaer; nine grandchildren, Erin, Shane, Kyle, Tyler and Dakota Koenig, Chad, Blake and Sydney Kahn and Jacob Yonkers and a sister, Bonita Cranston of Troy.

The memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:30am at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Tony Green, chaplain of The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 pm.

The graveside service will be held at Cemetery of the Evergreens in New Lebanon on Saturday at 9:45AM.

The Koenig family would like to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to The Community Hospice for the dignified and loving care given to our wife and mother.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in memory of Gail Koenig to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard Rensselaer, NY 12144.
