Frank F. Verenini, 90

Albany - Frank F. Verenini, 90, of Albany died Monday, May 18, 2009, at Julie Blair Rehabilitation Center Albany after a wonderful long life.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Battista Verenini and Maria Bertasio Verenini and husband of the late Helen Coughtry Verenini and Julia Mazzaferro Verenini. He was born in Troy, raised on Second Street in Albany.

Mr. Verenini was a self employed party planner and caterer for various Elks Clubs and holiday parties. Previously he was a grain hauler for Agway out of the Port of Albany and worked in the steam plant and pool operator at the State University of New York at Albany.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge of Elks #2233, Melvin Roads American Legion Post 1231 Albany and the North Albany Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #1610. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving as a ships cook.

Survivors include three sons, Frank (Donna) Verenini of Colonie, John P. (Betsy) Verenini of Vancouver BC and Barry M. (Nancy) Verenini of Westmere; a daughter, Sandra Zajesky of Ballston Spa; a sister, Rita Febraio of Albany; two brothers, Louis (Mary) Verenini of Wynantskill and Frederick (Betty) Verenini of Norwich; his grandchildren, Debra, Suzanne, Melissa, Michael, Jason, Derek, Thomas, Sandra, Michael, Frank, Joseph, Gina, Tina, Jeremy, Dana, Leah and Kimberly and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John Verenini; two sisters, Kay Galea and Louise Russo; a son-in-law, James Zajesky and a granddaughter, Tina Libbe.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Karyl Hopp , Pastor of Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30-10:30AM prior to the service.

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Frank F. Verenini to the Alzheimer's Association Capital District Chapter 85 Watervliet Avenue Albany, NY 12206.
