Filomena L. (DeGiorgio) Carello

Troy - Filomena L. DeGiorgio Carello, 95, died Friday, May 22, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Sebastian DeGiorgio and Mary Prezio DeGiorgio and wife of the late Salvatore Carello. She had resided all her life in Troy and attended Troy High School. 

Mrs. Carello was a sales clerk for 8 years at W.T. Grants in Troy , a homemaker and from 1937-47 worked at Cluett, Peabody & Co.

She enjoyed taking care of her children and nieces and nephews.    

Survivors include her children; Phyllis McLaughlin, Troy, Sebastian 'Greg' (Christine) Carello, Trumansburg, NY and Sgt. Salvatore (Susie Barker) Carello, Troy; her grandchildren, Brett (Mandi) McLaughlin, Michelle Carello, Erika Carello-Lopina and Nico Carello; three great grandchildren, Tyler and Anthony McLaughlin and Noelle Lopina; her sisters, Elizabeth (Marc) Ruggeri, Troy, Mary Trad, Clifton Park and Lucia Karichkowsky, Troy; sister-in-law, Theresa Agars and Grace Clemente both of Troy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary E. Carello and her siblings, Emilia (Skippy) Colwell, Joseph, Sebastian (Dodo) and Nicholas DeGiorgio, Amelia (Jackie) De Nice and Eleanor Daniels; brothers-in-law, Anthony, Russell, Joseph, Frederick and Nicholas Carello and Ernest Trad, Donald DeNice, Frank Daniels, John Colwell, Salvatore Clemente and Al Agars and a sister-in-law, Joan DeGiorgio.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling AvenueTroy on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 10-11:30 AM. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the  funeral home with Rev. Joseph O’Brien, officiating.

Interment will be in  St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
