Evelyn R. Bailey

Troy - Evelyn R. Bailey, affectionately known as "Nonnie", died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia.

Evelyn was the daughter of the late Charles and Celia Roeck, and was predeceased also by her brothers, Charles E. and Donald M. Roeck, as well as her husband, George H. Bailey Sr.

She was employed for many years by the State of New York in the Travel Unit. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church in Troy, serving in many capacities, including as organist.

She is survived by her children, Lynne Miller of Richmond, Va., Sharon (Mark) Miller of Rexford, and George (Lee) Bailey of Ballston Lake, and Brian (Wendy) Bailey of Powder Springs, Ga; her grandchildren, Yuri (Jodi) Zdunek and their daughter Madison, Sarah (David) Allen and their children, Hannah, Noah and Eleanor, Joel Miller, Justine (Brian) Jutton, Kaila Burnett, Dylan Bailey, Kerri (David) Bidwell and their children Tyler, Mia and Grayson, Joshua (Ali) Bailey, and Matthew Bailey.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 1-2 PM with a funeral service at 2 PM. A reception will follow at Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church Congress Street Troy at 3PM.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
