Esther G. Landfear Ambrose, 91

Troy - Esther G. Landfear Ambrose, 91, of Marvin Avenue died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at her residence after a brief illness surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Bernice Landfear and Maud Hanby Landfear and was the wife of the late Isadore William Ambrose. She had resided in Troy all of her life.

Mrs. Ambrose was employed for 25 years at Williams Press in Menands and then at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham for 10 years retiring in 1984.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, watching television and just being with her family.

Survivors include her children, William C. (Judith Stanley) Ambrose, Canandaigua, NY, I. John (Darlean) Ambrose, Norfolk, VA, Mary E. Delamater, Troy, Frances (Marj Adams) D'Arcy-Adams, Schenectady, NY and Michael D. Ambrose, Holiday, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her caregiver and neighbor, Stephanie McAvoy. She was predeceased by four sisters, Maud Maxfield, Ida Zelenke, Alice Hammond and Gertrude Quell and two brothers, Charles and William Landfear.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Esther G. Ambrose to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Boulevard Rensselaer, NY 12144.
