Ellen Anne (Pusatere) Deeb

Troy - Ellen Anne Pusatere Deeb, 96, of 1 Deeb Way died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Albany Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. 

Born in Troy,  she was daughter of the late Rosario Pusatere and Antonina Dinova Pusatere and wife of the late Theodore Vincent  Deeb. She had resided in the Troy area all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1938 and Albany Business College. 

Mrs. Deeb was the owner of Ted's Fish Fry since 1949. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Watervliet Arsenal, Montgomery Ward and Marine Midland Bank. 

She was a long time member of the Troy Italian Community Center and St. Ann Maronite Catholic Church. Ellen was a member of the Canasta Club and an avid poker player and the oldest woman to enter into the World Series of Poker Main Event. She spent her days playing Scrabble with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Deeb, Albany; her son,  S.K. Deeb, Troy; her grandchildren, Ted (Autumn) Deeb, Bill Deeb, Shaun (Ashley) Deeb and Deanna (Dan DeBonis) Deeb; her great grandchildren, Evan and Sophia Deeb; a brother, Leo Pusatere, Troy and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her siblings,  Mary Sapone, Josephine Sgarlata, Anne Casestrari and Joe, Ross, Cosimo and Frank Pusatere.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 3-7 PM. 

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will be in  St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.
