Elizabeth Clark Welch, 89

Brunswick-Elizabeth Clark Welch, 89, of Muriel Drive in Troy, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Williamstown, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Clark and Izola (Montague) Clark and wife of the late Edward B. Welch.

She had resided in Newport, RI before moving to Brunswick in 2005 and was a graduate of Williamstown High School and Mildred Elley School in Albany.

Mrs. Welch was employed in retail banking for 20 years, retiring from Valley Bank and Trust Company in Springfield, MA in 1972.

She is survived by her son, Christopher C. Welch of Newport, RI; her daughter, Alicia J. Welch (James Watt) of Brunswick and two grandchildren, Jesse Edward Watt of Berlin, Germany and Ian William Watt of Brunswick. She was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine McGoldrick and Edna Miner.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Williamstown.
