Elizabeth 'Betty' Treiling 82

Wynantskill - Elizabeth 'Betty' Treiling 82, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.

Betty was the beloved wife of Kenneth G. Treiling for 61 years. Survivors in addition to her husband include children Kathleen (Jack) Spanner of Charlotte, NC, Jeanne Hawkey of Schenectady, Kenneth Treiling of Catskill, Robert (Colleen) Treiling of Glenmont, Mary Treiling of Schenectady and Thomas Treiling of Vero Beach, FL; a sister Ellen Tinsley of Lafayette, LA, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Betty attended Hofstra University and graduated from Russell Sage College. She taught for 15 years in the East Greenbush School District at the Genet School. She retired in 1985. She was an active member of the quilting club in Vero Beach, FL and volunteered with various organizations.

Betty was a communicant of St. Helen's Church in Vero Beach and St. Henry's Church in Averill Park.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 9:30 am at St. Henry's Church, Averill Park. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Elizabeth E. Treiling to the Leukemia Society of Upstate New York, 5 Computer Drive West, Albany, NY 12205.
