Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Ratigan

Wynantskill -Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Ratigan of Wynantskill New York entered into peaceful rest with the lord on September 28, 2013, surrounded by her husband and 5 children, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Betty-Ann was born on April 3, 1933 in Troy, New York to Rose Nold and Bernhardt J Husser of Kemp Ave in Mountainview .

Betty was predeceased by her Mother, Father, Sister Rose Rogers and her Grandson Nathan Ratigan.

Betty is survived by Martin F. Ratigan, her husband of 59 years, 5 children Karen & Jeff Sauvie of Arrington, TN, Gary & Karen Ratigan of Wynantskill, Mark Ratigan (Melinda Schmidt) of Troy, VA, Chuck & Donna Ratigan of Keller TX , Paul & Laura Ratigan of Wynantskill, 12 Grand Children and 10 Great Grand Children and her Brother Bernard Husser of Wynantskill and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Betty was educated in Troy at Sacred Heart School and attended Catholic Central High School. Betty worked as a car hop at Jack's Drive-Inn and RPI.

Betty was a lifetime active member of The Germania Hall in Troy, New York where she was a member of Maennerchor Damen Verein and The Schuhplattler Verein Alpenklang where she is known for playing the German Alpine Bells at many festivals and venues.

Betty enjoyed time with the fans, staff, and players of the Tri-City Valley Cats where she was a greeter for many years. Rick Murphy GM, used to tell her that she could come and go as she wanted because she was in charge. Betty also spent winters in Florida with her husband chairing many German festivities and events. She enjoyed golf (3 hole-in-ones). She will be missed.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rufus Collea for his care and compassion, The Community Hospice for their services and support and for our niece, Jessica for her selfless professional care, support, companionship and love. Gram loved you dearly.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday from 4- 7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 AM at the funeral home at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Elizabeth Ratigan to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Lexington 1900 Richmond Road Lexington, KY 40502.
