Edwin Frank Hussey, 84

Poestenkill - Edwin Frank Hussey, 84,of Weatherwax Road, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Frank Hussey and Lela (Brock) Hussey and husband of the late Lorraine McDowell Hussey.

He was raised in Troy and had resided in Poestenkill since 1954.

Mr. Hussey was a rigger at Alleghany Ludlum Steel in Watervliet for 30 years, retiring 30 years ago.

He was a life member of the Poestenkill Fire Company, the Troy Men's Bowling Association and Brunswick Sportsmans Club. He was also former Secretary, Treasurer, President and member of the Board of Directors of the Troy Men's Bowling Association, a member of the Troy Bowling Hall of Fame and a member and Trustee of Hope United Methodist Church in Eagle Mills. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Hoffay (Thomas) of Eagle Mills and Barbara Renfroe (Jack Roger) of Knoxville, TN; a son, Mark E. Hussey (Leslie) of Pittstown; a sister, Catherine Rinn of Lansingburgh; nine grandchildren, Eric, Terry and Joann Hoffay, Scott, Michelle, Danielle and Christopher LaFountaine and Michelle and Robin C. Hussey; 16 great grandchildren; a niece, Denise Walpurgis of Troy and a nephew, David Rinn of Wilton. He was predeceased by a son, Robin H. Hussey.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. David Martin, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
