Edna C. Scheck Schirmer, 82

North Greenbush-Edna C. Scheck Schirmer, 82,formerly of Wynantskill died Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush after a lengthy illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Harry Scheck and Lillian (O'Donnell) Scheck and wife of the late James William Schirmer Sr.

She had resided in Wynantskill most of her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mrs. Schirmer was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill.

She is survived by two sons James W. Schirmer Jr. of Wynantskill and Lt. Col. William J. Schirmer (Kathy) of Averill Park; two daughters, Barbara St. Gelais (Leonard) of Colonie and Christine Windover (Doug) of Menands; three brothers, Harold Scheck of NC, George Scheck of RI and Charles Scheck of Troy; a sister, Laura Peak of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Libby Schirmer, Aaron, Kirk and Ryan St. Gelais and Nicole Buchanan; four great-grandchildren, Natalie and Alaina Buchanan and Nevinn and Olivia St. Gelais and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:30am at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 10am at St. Jude the Apostle Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Varno, Former Pastor of St. Jude's, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-7pm.

Interment Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Schirmer to St. Jude the Apostle Church Altar Rosary Society Brookside Avenue Wynantskill, NY 12198 or the charity of ones choice. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the 3A staff of the Van Rensselaer Manor for their kindness toward Edna.
