Troy - Adrienne Gittleson Rogers, Ph.D, 85, of Grange Road died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a brief illness.
Born in Flushing, NY, she was daughter of the late Irving Gittleson and Hattie Goldstein Gittleson and former wife of the late William B. Rogers. She was raised in Flushing and resided in New York City prior to moving to Troy in 1961. Adrienne earned her Bachelor's degree from Queens College in 1950, her Master's from Middlebury College in 1953 and her Doctorate from State University of New York at Albany in 1970.
Dr. Rogers was Chairman of the Foreign Language Department at Russell Sage College where she was employed for almost 30 years, retiring in 1988.
She enjoyed classical music and performed in piano recitals at Emma Willard School in Troy well into her 60's.
Survivors include two sons, Laurence Stuart Rogers and Eric Alfred Rogers, both of Troy and two grandchildren, Max and Janet Rogers.
Funeral service private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
