Dorothy 'Randi' Jones Lewis, 90

Queensbury - Dorothy 'Randi' Jones Lewis passed away at the age of 90 on the eve of December 15th at Glens Falls Hospital after a brief illness. She was born October 21, 1923 in Carbondale, PA and was the daughter of the late Anna Wagner Jones and John W. Jones of Smithtown, New York. She was the wife for 66 years of Stephen Viele Lewis II of Queensbury and formerly of Troy.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Stephen V. Lewis III (Joan) of Menands, Dorothy Anne Lewis (Francis Flotron) of St. Louis, Paul Gordon Lewis (Amy) of S. Orange, New Jersey and Jean Lewis Maloy (Peter) of Loudonville. She was predeceased by two children, Mark John Lewis of Troy, New York and Claudia Johnson Lewis (Tim Johnson) of Santa Fe, and her brother, William Jones of Naples, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen V. Lewis IV of Boxford, MA., Elizabeth Lewis Totten of Ipswich, MA, Peter Maloy, Jr. of Los Angeles, Hannah Maloy of Seattle, Mariah and Liam and Mark Maloy of Loudonville, New York and her great grandchildren, Jack and William Totten of Ipswich, MA and twins Shea Vivian and Stephen V. Lewis V of Boxford, MA.

Randi graduated from Smithtown High School in 1942 and in 1946 from Russell Sage College with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She began her career as a teacher in Hillsdale, NY. She resided for most of her married life in Troy where she raised six children. She was active in her community and in Sacred Heart Church of Troy. She was President of the Junior League of Troy, the Lake George Club, the Van Rensselaer Garden Club, the Lake George Garden Club and was Publicity Chair of Troy Chromatic Concerts. She was a founding director of the Junior Museum, a member of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center Women's Council and the Country Club of Troy and so many other organizations.

She displayed creativity and leadership in all that she did and was respected for her dedication to each of her chosen causes.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Pawling Avenue, Troy. Family will greet guests following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dorothy J. Lewis, class of 1946, may be made to Russell Sage College, 65 First St., Troy, NY 12180.
