Doris E. Manning Vickers, 86

Troy - Doris E. Manning Vickers, 86, of Albert Street died Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late William E. Manning and Alice H. Severance Manning and wife of the late John E. Vickers. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School, Albany Business School and attended Russell Sage College and Hudson Valley Community College.

Mrs. Vickers was a secretary for Borden Company in Menands, and WTRY, The Troy Record, Marine Midland Bank and James E. Weiss Inc. Bookkeeping.

She was a member of Ilium Literary Club and enjoyed going to lunch with friends and traveling.

Survivors include a son, Eric E. Vickers, Troy; three cousins, Ann Kiffney, Gloversville, James VanDeusen, Johnstown and Esther Roche, Watervliet and a special friend, Robley E. Sawyer, Troy.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday from 10-11AM with a funeral service at 11AM.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
